The training principles and innovations behind the Perfect Pushup originated with Alden Mills, a seven year veteran of the Navy SEALs.

As a US Navy SEAL Team TWO platoon commander, LCDR Mills's platoon was chosen for a one year study to determine why SEALs suffered unusually high injury rates during their careers. After learning the injuries were linked to their training methods, SEAL trainers switched from age-old body building techniques to Functional Training. Alden learned first hand from some of the best minds in the business on how to incorporate these lessons learned into building optimal exercise routines.

After leaving the US Navy SEAL Teams, Alden graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s Business School and began an entrepreneurial career path in California. He became a certified professional trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and started the company that became BODYREV in 2002. His belief of using exercise as a key to gaining control of your life is the cornerstone for the company’s philosophy. He is passionate about helping others take control of their bodies. He believes if they can learn to be successful at taking control of their body, that they will be successful at anything they put their minds to.

When not volunteering in his community he spends every available moment he can with his three boys and wonderful wife in San Francisco California.
